BCMSA Cares

Throughout the year, BCMS Alliance members engage in several projects
to promote healthier lifestyles in Bexar County.

Our major public health initiatives are the Texas Book Share and Hard Hats for Little Heads

Through Texas Book Share, we provide books on health & wellness topics to Bexar County children.
Through Hard Hats for Little Heads, we provide hundreds of free bicycle helmets to
Bexar County children in order to prevent traumatic brain injury.
BCMS Alliance's Allied Health Scholarships give thousands of dollars to
well-deserving Bexar County college students pursuing careers in an Allied Health field
(e.g. nursing, pharmacy, optometry, physical therapy, etc.).
In addition to these major annual philanthropies, BCMS Alliance also participates in
smaller fundraisers, collection drives, and projects.  For a past Doctor's Day, we fundraised for Project Brave.
We also partnered with the Children's Bereavement Center to provide meals & monetary support to families affected by grief.
Junior Volunteer Council (JVC) is a great way for teenagers to help their community while earning
volunteer hours.  This group is composed of the teenage children and grandchildren
of BCMS Alliance and BCMS members.
